“People often ask me whether I "prefer being an artist or producer," but I believe they are completely interlinked. Because I am an artist, I genuinely know what an artist needs in a producer - I know how to really listen to, amplify and support an artist in the production process; and because I spent years writing songs for other artists and developing artists for labels, I have a true understanding and passion for helping artists get to the core of what they want to say. I know how to get out of the way as well, and I feel like that's a quality that I struggled with when trying to collaborate with producers in the past on my own work. “

“Production for me is an opportunity to really listen and give voice to the person or people I'm working with, and also an opportunity for me to shape-shift and try things that are outside of my own sound and comfort zone. As a female producer specifically, empowering and amplifying other female voices and stories is very close to my heart, and I only hope to continue to foster opportunities to do that in all the projects I am part of.”
